December 2003 - North American rights to Johanna's debut
novel The Next Big Thing are snapped up by Berkley/Penguin in a six-figure, two-book deal.
March 2005 - Berkley publishes The Next Big Thing
in trade paperback. It receives rave reviews in Us Weekly, USA Today, and The Boston Globe. The
book goes back to press numerous times and spends nearly three months on the national bestseller lists.
August 2005 - Simon & Schuster buys the rights, at
auction, to Johanna's debut YA novel, Confessions of a Teenage Spy.
September 2005 - Berkley signs Johanna for two more adult
titles, in a significant six-figure (with bonuses) hardcover deal.
September 2005 - Foreign rights to Johanna's second novel,
Your Big Break, sold to AST in Russia for hardcover publication.
September 2005 - Johanna featured in "hot deals" column
of Publishers Weekly.
September 2005 - Dutch translation rights to Your
Big Break sold to Sijthoff, an imprint of Veen Bosch Keuning, Holland's largest publishing house.
Upcoming:
March 2006 - Johanna's second novel, Your Big Break, will be released in
the US in trade paperback.
March 2007 - Johanna's third novel, How to Be Cool, will be released in
the US in hardcover.
